This compilation contains some very wonderful material from Hill's recording "hey-day."
The highlight is "Passionette," which is magnificiently smooooooth, mellow and delicate.
Hill's tenor sax is terrific, as are the solos of Sam Allen on piano, Dickie Wells (trombone) and Bill Dillard (trumpet). Russell Procope is involved in this affair, as is Bill Beason, who always played the drums with what can be described as emotion...with a capital "E."
