Becca W's Comments on Being a Military Wife

I have never been good at balancing!!! It helps that we are strong in our faith and I know God will never give us more than we can handle. It does not always make things easier, but we know everything happens for a reason. I am very proud of what DH does. I try to remind myself WHY he is gone. The separations have actually brought us closer together. I think we value the time we have together more because of them.

I do not feel there is a single hard time of day. It is always hard being a single mom. I think what I miss the most is the time we spend together talking about our day. There is no one to snuggle with and talk to at the end of the day!

It helps having someone there to help me with the yard work, whether it is someone to watch the kids, or someone to do it for me. It is also nice to have someone to go shopping or out to eat with. Anything to get me out of the house.

My DH is not deployed overseas. He is away at a school.

I have not been a military wife long, but I love the adventures! We are about to move 3000 miles away from home, so I am sure we have only seen the beginning of our great adventures.

The separations are hard, but for me, the worst part is packing and unpacking boxes. I never feel like I am done!!!

For the war protesters... my DH is there to protect your right to say what you want to, when you want to. Because of the military protecting your freedoms, you are not rotting in jail today.

If my DS or DD wanted to join the military, I would back their decision 100%. I think that overall the military is a good experience and can be a good career choice.

I would want anyone who is considering marrying into the military to know the ups and downs of military life. If they are ready for the adventure, go for it!!! If there are any second thoughts, don't make a mistake. You have to be ready to make a lot of changes in a very short period of time. How situations are handled can make or break a marriage.
