New Year's Not-So-Resolutions
At the end of each year most of us make a list of things we resolve to do in the New Year. I am sure you have done it at some point, but how many of those promises to yourself did you actually keep? If you are like most people, your answer is “very few.” It is nothing to be ashamed of. We ALL do it, and we will probably do it again. So this year we thought it would be fun to gather some of our resolutions we know we can’t keep and share them with our friends and community here, so we can all get a chuckle knowing we are not alone!
I know I will never learn to love cabbage, turnips, collard greens or re-fried beans.
I know I will probably not ever have the weeding done in the yard all at the same time.
I doubt I could ever love to drive a Hummer. ~wondercat Kristy

I would say losing weight but Kristy might slap me LOL *wink*
I usually promise to get more organized and manage my time better but I never seem to change. ~amberh

Probably cleaning out the garage or storage rooms. I can’t stand clutter in the rest of my house, but beware if you open the storage room door! ~DawnG

I always say I'm going to go to bed each night with a clean kitchen, and I just can't ever make that happen consistently, but I do love it when it happens! ~Michelle

Washing the car when Kevin is deployed. I think that's happened once. LOL
And not getting on the internet first thing in the morning. Some people need coffee—I need my ‘Net fix. ~Stefanie

One for me that I will make and never be able to keep is to not have empty Dunkin Donuts coffee cups on the floor of my car constantly.
I will make and break keeping my laundry room cleaned at all times.
Training my pug to mind me! I hired someone to do that after Christmas. LOL!
Shopping at eBay. ~Shawnsmom

I could never keep a promise to follow a set-in-stone schedule. I've tried so many times it's embarrassing. I do need to set up a little more of a guideline, but I can NOT follow something too strict. Kids are too unpredictable! ~Blessed Mommy

Probably losing weight. No matter how hard I try, or how much I accomplish, something always comes along and keeps me from obtaining or maintaining. ~Host_Michelle(KK)

I will never weigh 120 lbs again, never learn to like corn, never like driving in bad weather and never give up soda (I've tried!!!).~Host Katie N

Thank you all for sharing these with us! Each story read was very recognizable and filled with common resolutions so many of us have broken throughout the years. I am sure I will have a number to make and break myself including, giving up pop, losing a TON of weight and not yelling so much about everything. But those things are what make us “us,” so we can’t give it all up without losing a little bit of our true self.
I hope no matter what resolutions you make, break, keep or beat, this New Year is the best year you’ve ever had!
