Once upon a time there was a woman named Chelle who had made many friends on Internet message boards. These women had been shuffled from site to site trying to stay together as websites changed ownership and some were shut down. At the urging of others, and following her personal dream, she took a leap of faith to start a website of her very own. A place where her friends could gather as they always had, but without fear of losing their cyber home again.

Chelle had some helpers who were working busy behind the scenes to get this new website up and running -- including her very hunky husband. This fine man knew how much the online community meant to his wife, and he agreed they would run and finance the operation out of their own pockets. Womens-Place opened its doors and began to grow in leaps and bounds over the following months. The home Chelle had hoped for was blossoming before her very eyes.

The hosts helped to make their little corners run well, and the editors helped give everyone something new to read and learn every month. Each person who helped with the site did it purely on a volunteer basis. It was a labor of love! Every member enjoyed the site free of charge. However, some members were able to give back in the form of time, prize donations or monetarily. Though Chelle and Tim would never require anyone to help them, they are always willing to accept help whenever someone wants to give it. Because of all these things, Womens-Place had become a wonderful community full of beautiful women with big hearts.

Through thick and thin; trials and tribulations; husbands being sent to war; children being born and lost; and every other imaginable thing life can throw at a person, our members stood strong! Friends and strangers gather daily selflessly and generously helping one another in the name of community.

During all this time, Chelle and Tim have continued to upgrade and update the site to meet the needs of our membership and keep it running smoothly. Donations come in now and then, and fundraisers help a bit, but the majority of financial responsibility still remained with Chelle and Tim. They have maintained they will keep the site up and running, no matter what, and they have proven this fact time and time again.

All of us working behind the scenes at W-P want to extend our tremendous gratitude for the ever-faithful outpouring of support from our members. Because of you, Womens-Place continues to look towards the future with great hope and spirit as we watch our community continue to prosper and grow.
