Kid's Summertime Activities

Summer KidsNow that we are well into summer, we need to make sure the kids are staying busy and having fun! But what do we do to keep them entertained when we’ve used up all the tricks we had in our bag? Have no fear; we have found more activities to help keep the bored kid syndrome at bay! Before the winds die down, how about a little kite flying? Anthony's Kite Shop has plans and directions for many different kite shapes and sizes that are sure to catch the eye of every kid on the block. Or check out this site for lots of ideas for Summer Fun. And this site with 200-PLUS IDEAS FOR SUMMERTIME (or anytime!) FUN! What do you do if you have ‘tweens? You know, those kids who are too old to be distracted by a new coloring book but too young to run around on their own. Well, here is a site chock full of ideas specifically for Young Teens! And if all else fails, why not suggest some great Summer Reading? It’s great for all ages but it’s also a good time to challenge the minds of our older kids. No matter how much you think you have planned for your kids, they’ll still utter those words you hate—“I’m bored!” Here’s one more site with some great Boredom Busting Projects. Summer funEvery kid needs some down time. We can’t be on the go every minute of every day. It’s just not possible! Boredom is a part of life and adults know to enjoy and appreciate those rare chances to just sit back and relax. However, kids do not feel the same way and have to be taught how to handle such times.
