Turkey Day Tips
The time has come when many of us will enjoy a Thanksgiving feast with turkey and all the trimmings. Planning such a dinner is never easy and usually takes days of preparation, but the end result is well worth it--most of the time anyway! Here are a few suggestions and links to help you accomplish your goals.
Many things have to be done for the big meal but first comes the turkey. How will we safely wrestle that large, naked bird again this year? First, be careful of cross-contamination. Wash your hands frequently and make sure all utensils, pans and counters are clean. However, that is just the beginning. Here is a great link from Butterball with tips on how to safely prepare your meal. For last-minute emergencies on Thanksgiving Day, don't forget their hotline: 1-800-BUTTERBALL.
And what about all those side dishes and desserts? From vegetables and stuffing, to breads and pumpkin pie, every family has their traditional offerings. But, wouldn't you like to add something new to your spread this year? Why not check out the Womens-Place cookbook? While you're there, please add a recipe that gets rave reviews from your family. Who knows? Your recipe just might inspire someone else to add a new tradition to their Thanksgiving table.
Whatever your tradition, we hope you enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with all the things you love most.
