How has the WTSY board inspired you?
The ladies on the losing weight boards are sooo supportive. The boards are fun and easy to post on and frankly I don't know WHAT we would do without our fearless leader KLee. She is just the BEST! She is soooo supportive. No matter how bad we may have fallen off the wagon, she is always there to support us and encourage us to get back on and persevere. We just love her and are sooo glad she is there to host our boards and be our coach on this life long journey to health and fitness.

I am new to the group, but I feel that the board has helped me so much already. First of all, the girls have welcomed me in with open arms and have made me feel SO comfortable. Right from the very first day, I felt a part of the group. Second, I have been battling this weight for 17 months since my daughter was born and I have tried many times unsuccessfully to get on the bandwagon and get to losing it. I was able to do it after my son, but have not since my daughter's birth. In my first week with this group, I've lost 3.5 pounds and I am getting up before 6am to walk ... it's some kind of miracle! LOL Truly, I am incredibly inspired by this group every day, and I just KNOW that I am now in a place where I WILL be successful, and I am so thankful!

For me there are several ways that the WTASY board has helped me lose my weight.
I am an emotional and boredom eater. If I am having a stressful day or am just bored, I can post what I am feeling and know I will have unconditional support from those who have had similar days. Support is one of the biggest reasons why I stay with the board. We all have the same problem with the same goal. Some have a few pounds to lose, others have a lot, but ultimately we're there for the same reason, to become healthier women. We all need support in losing weight, especially when those pesky plateaus hit.
There is so much information and advice on weight loss, eating healthy, and exercise from the board. Without the board, I never would have tried some of the videos out there, new healthy recipes, or become inspired to think about possibly running. I hated running when I was in school; for me to start considering it because I am seeing others do it is very eye-opening for me.
Every week with the challenges, you become motivated to exercise and eat healthy. Seeing weekly results from the other members is inspiring, especially with the new before/during/after picture pages. Hearing about it is one thing, but seeing it in front of your face is a motivating feeling that is very hard to describe. It is uplifting and makes you want to see those same results for yourself.
The biggest way the board has helped me is with the weekly exercise reports and weigh-in. It keeps me accountable for what I am doing. It makes me aware of what I am putting in my mouth, good and bad, and how it will affect this week's weight. I make sure I do my exercise, no matter how tired I am or even if I just don't want to. If I do not make my goal, I feel like I am not only letting myself down, but I am letting the others down too.
K.Lee is a wonderful woman. She is always supportive, offering hope and advice when needed. Seeing her before and after pictures inspires me to set the tripod up and take them of myself so I can see how far I have come. She keeps our challenges going strong. She is the heart and soul of the board. She is our strength. K.Lee has one of the hardest jobs for anyone who is or has tried to lose weight, maintaining. Not only has she shown us that we can lose weight, but she has shown that we can keep it off too.
Of course, I cannot write this without mentioning the other board members. Without them I would have given up a long time ago. I have been on a plateau for a few months, but knowing that they are there to support me, I have kept coming back week after week posting losses and gains. Helping keep other members motivated either through support or because I have lost several pounds is worth every healthy food I've eaten and every sore muscle to see their excitement when they enter a new number range on the scale.

Just visit the WTASY board for Free Friday and you will see the wealth of support, knowledge, strength and determination the ladies who post on this board possess! Not only is it a place to share successes, but also a place to discuss disappointments, share healthy recipes, discuss the newest fitness videos and discuss the trials and tribulations of eating out. Posting on the board has helped me stay focused toward my goal by having others who are fighting the same battle I am to be accountable to. More than once, I've exercised or eaten well at a big event because I've told the WTASY ladies my plan and asked them to check up on me. The monthly weight loss and exercise challenges have also helped me stay on track because I'm constantly setting mini-goals for myself which seem much more attainable than looking at the big picture.
As I was thinking of what to say about K.Lee, I started thinking of words to describe her. I think I'll just leave you with that list: supportive, cheerleader, realistic about goals, lifestyle change, runner, Firm junkie, nonjudgmental, inspirational, knowledgeable about healthy weight loss, team captain, challenge organizer.
